Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2011 Results today

Result for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), an all India examination which is conducted every year for the direct admission in M.Tech courses at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) around the country would be made available today at 10:00 a.m (IST) at GATE offices of IISc, seven IITs and on the official websites of GATE Offices.

GATE this year was conducted online and offline on 30th January'11 and 13th February'11 respectively. Those candidates who would not be able to make to the offices can check the result on its official website on http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2011.

The organizing institute, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has clearly outlined that the declared results would be considered as the final grades and candidates would not be allowed to apply for the re-evaluation of the same.

In an another related news, students pursuing B Tech-M Tech dual degree at IIT, Bombay will be able to make a shift to the institute’s M Tech-PhD programme as till now students who have completed their masters have to clear the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE for admission to the PhD programmes, this will save a lot of time for these students however this is just limited to IIT, Bombay for now and will not be made mandatory for all departments
